Patrons consistently praise El Rincon Del Mofongo not only for its large, satisfying portions but also for its genuine flavors and the heartfelt care in every dish. Sheryl Anne Flint fondly recalls the comfortable ambiance evoking Miami memories, though she notes the salad dressing wasn’t for her taste — a minor quibble that hardly dims the overall experience. Mitchell Weiner raves about the chef Juan’s impressive skill, praising the variety, from goat stew to oxtails and the must-have empanadas. Michael Burns highlights the meal’s generous portions and savory richness, making it a place worth returning to time and again. And perhaps most telling is Joaquin Fernandez’s endorsement, emphasizing the restaurant’s authenticity and true Dominican spirit, calling it the "real deal" despite its humble appearance.
If you yearn for a genuine taste of the Dominican Republic in a welcoming, unpretentious setting, El Rincon Del Mofongo is an exceptional choice. Whether you’re diving into the crispy pork chicharrón, savoring the tender roasted pork, or indulging in the comforting mofongo, this restaurant delivers a soulful dining experience that leaves you craving more.
Great Find! Comfortable place reminds me of when I used to live in Miami. FOOD was Great. I ONLY didn't enjoy the dressing on salad.
When you're in the mood but you're not quite sure for what and then you pass by and say oh that's where it is.... The mofongo guy!!! Juan can cook!!You know me so by the time we got done not sure undecided I got goats stew, beef stew, chicken and garlic sauce, roasted pork, and oxtails.. But of course you know I had to have a Empanada!!
What a meal that was. Large portions, delicious food. Really filling and savory. Excellent, definitely worth future visits.
Truly authentic Dominican food (take my word for it, my mom was Dominican and I lived there for 16 years). That said, this place is the definition of a “hole in a wall” restaurant, but it is 100% the real deal. I had the Mofongo with Chicharrón (pork rinds). Check it out!
Starting with the best… Food was amazing! I ordered the roasted pork with yellow rice and red beans. Meat was perfectly seasoned and super tender. Rice texture was perfect and beans were delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Oxtail with white rice and black beans and he loved everything. We also ordered a mofongo and was soft and delicious. The restaurant is dominican but I think they have a puertorrican chef in the back too lol because food taste dominican/puertorrican. The service was excellent and the food arrive fast (15 min). Please note that this is a small restaurant, a little heaven for anyone looking to eat good food????????????????. We are definitely coming back.
The food is amazing the female waitress could kill the attitude I don't understand what for rolling her eyes sucking her teeth okay I don't speak Spanish that much anyway I had to give you five stars I couldn't let her ruin it I know how hard it is to run a business the guy in the back is real cool I think he's the owner I don't know and the plantains are affordable and they are delicious
